The Journey Down Tour
Presented by Tura in partnership with WA Museum in 2023
The Journey Down is an animated and vibrant celebration of dance, song, projections and otherworldly sound coming together to transform Warnarral Ngoorrngoorrool, an old car wreck, into a sonic sculpture and travelling canvas of story and culture.
In 2023, Warnarral Ngoorrngoorrool made its epic trek from its home in Kununurra to its new home at the WA Museum Boola Bardip in Perth, where it has been enjoyed by visitors from all over the world.
The tour travelled and presented to the communities, towns and cities of Kununurra, Warmun, Halls Creek, Wangkatjungka, Fitzroy Crossing, Broome, Port Hedland, Roebourne, Karratha, Carnarvon, Geraldton, Midland and Perth over a three-week period.
The 3,200km journey of Warnarral Ngoorrngoorrool is an important moment in Western Australian history that has had significant impact on the wider cultural landscape of Australia.
